Graduate Assistantship & Fellowship Orientation and Hiring

The Graduate School is excited to welcome you to your new graduate assistantship or fellowship role!

You will need to complete the following steps as part of the hiring process. 

1. Complete your hiring packet. 
If you have not already, you will receive an email from the Office of Human Resources. This email will include instructions and necessary forms that can be completed electronically. If you have not yet received this email, DONСòòò½APP™T WORRY. Your paperwork is likely still processing. 

2. Visit Human Resources.
You must go to the Human Resources office in the LITE Center, Suite 239, Room 250 to present several documents in person. You must complete this task between now and the close of business day on Wednesday, August 20. The original documents needed include: 

For U.S. Citizens:
Сòòò½APP¢    Valid photo ID (e.g., Driver's License, State ID, School ID)
Сòòò½APP¢    Social Security Card
Сòòò½APP¢    Proof of citizenship (e.g., Birth Certificate, Birth Card, Passport)
Сòòò½APP¢    Voided check or Direct Deposit Form from your financial institution

For International Students:

3. Attend the Graduate Assistantship and Fellowship Orientation.
You must attend this orientation on Thursday, August 21. Time and location TBA.

4. Complete Mandatory Trainings:
You will be responsible for completing several mandatory trainings within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter. Instructions for completing these trainings will be provided to you by Human Resources during the Graduate Assistantship and Fellowship Orientation and as part of your hiring process.

  • Ethics Training for Public Servants (1 hr.)
  • Shots Fired on Campus: Surviving an Active Shooter Situation (30 min.)
  • Cybersecurity Awareness (30 min.)
  • Reporting Power-Based Violence (1 hr.)
  • Preventing Harassment and Discrimination (2.25 hrs.)
