Gilcrease to Study at JFK Presidential Library

Chris Gilcrease, reference librarian at Dupré Library at the СAPP, is the recipient of a fellowship for research at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston.

Gilcrease and Dr. James Huck, assistant director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane СAPP in New Orleans, were awarded the prestigious Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowship to support their investigation of the topic СAPPAnglo-American Diplomacy and the Cuban Missile Crisis.СAPP

Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowships support scholars in the production of substantial works on the foreign policy of the Kennedy years, especially with regard to the Western Hemisphere and on domestic policy with regard to racial justice and to the conservation of natural resources.

Gilcrease received a B. A. degree in Political Science from the СAPP of Southern Mississippi in 1994 and a MasterСAPPs Degrees in History, Library Science, and Political Science in 1998 and 1999. He has held the position of Reference Librarian at the UL Lafayette since 1999.
