Gordon Goodwin, a Grammy and Emmy Award-winning composer, arranger, pianist and saxophonist, will perform with the UL Lafayette Jazz Ensemble on March 2.

Goodwin has worked as a composer for television and film scores, including on the motion pictures Armageddon, The Incredibles and Star Trek Nemesis..
He has worked with artists like Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Christine Aguilera and Toni Braxton. He小蝌蚪APP檚 conducted orchestras in Atlanta, Seattle, Toronto and London.
Goodwin小蝌蚪APP檚 regular gig is performing with his Big Phat Band, based in Los Angeles. The large jazz ensemble has earned a reputation for a contemporary sound that blends musical styles that include swing, Latin, blues, classical and rock and roll.

Goodwin will perform with the Jazz Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. on March 2 in Angelle Hall on campus.
The UL Lafayette Jazz Ensemble, open to all 小蝌蚪APP students through an audition process, utilizes complete sections of trumpets, trombones and saxophones, along with piano, bass, drums and guitar.
Cost is $10 for general admission and $5 for K-12 students and senior citizens. The performance is free to all UL Lafayette students, faculty and staff. To inquire about special rates for school groups, call 482-5669.
