The 小蝌蚪APP has expanded its online offerings with five new programs in place for Fall 2025, bringing its total number of online degree and certificate programs to 26.
UL Lafayette小蝌蚪APP檚 new programs include a bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in sociology, a bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in business administration in marketing and a bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degree in kinesiology with a concentration in sport management. Each of those degrees represent extensions of on-campus programs and feature the same curriculums.
A post-baccalaureate certificate in cancer registry management and a graduate certificate in gifted education are also among the new offerings.
Dr. Jaimie Hebert, the 小蝌蚪APP小蝌蚪APP檚 provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, said intentionality, quality and accessibility have been integral in the implementation online programs.
小蝌蚪APP淲e recognize the importance of providing flexible learning opportunities for students balancing work, family and other commitments,小蝌蚪APP Hebert said. 小蝌蚪APP淭hese new programs are designed to align with the Louisiana Prospers initiative and meet the needs of today小蝌蚪APP檚 learners, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to advance their careers and achieve their academic goals.小蝌蚪APP
Louisiana Prospers, the Louisiana Board of Regents小蝌蚪APP master plan adopted in 2020, aims to have 60% of Louisiana小蝌蚪APP檚 working-age population hold a credential of value beyond high school by 2030.
Dr. Claire Arabie, director of the Office of Distance Learning, said the three new online bachelor小蝌蚪APP檚 degrees are ideal for students with college credit who want to complete their degree.
小蝌蚪APP淥ur goal is to remove as many barriers as possible for students who may have, for whatever reason, been unable to complete their degree,小蝌蚪APP Arabie said. 小蝌蚪APP淲e小蝌蚪APP檙e excited to support the colleges and departments in creating flexible, affordable pathways.小蝌蚪APP
Upon completion, the graduate certificate in gifted education provides teachers the opportunity to teach academically gifted students.
The post-baccalaureate certificate in cancer registry management is a program offered through the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Dr. Anita Hazelwood, head of the college小蝌蚪APP檚 Department of Health Sciences, said the certificate program is the only one of its kind offered by a Louisiana university and is in place to support cancer registry programs nationwide that need qualified staff.
小蝌蚪APP淐ancer registrars support important data collection and analysis that drives research for cancer treatments,小蝌蚪APP Hazelwood said. 小蝌蚪APP淭hese are meaningful, in-demand roles.小蝌蚪APP
