Hebert Selected as UL LafayetteСòòò½APP™s New Provost

Dear faculty and staff members,

ItСòòò½APP™s my pleasure to announce that Dr. Jaimie Hebert will be provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the Сòòò½APP.

Some of you had a chance to meet him during his visits as a candidate to our campus. IСòòò½APP™m thankful for your participation in the search process.

WeСòòò½APP™ll welcome Dr. Hebert home on July 1. In addition to his solid higher education credentials, he already is familiar with UL LafayetteСòòò½APP™s mission and values. HeСòòò½APP™s an alumnus and scholar who shares our RaginСòòò½APP™ Cajun spirit.

Dr. Hebert received three degrees from UL Lafayette. He received a bachelorСòòò½APP™s in 1986, a masterСòòò½APP™s in 1988 and a doctorate in 1990 Сòòò½APP“ all in statistics.

new provost jamie hebertDr. Hebert was most recently president of Georgia Southern Сòòò½APP. He led the Сòòò½APP System of Georgia consolidation of Georgia Southern Сòòò½APP with Armstrong State Сòòò½APP.

Before his appointment as president at Georgia Southern, he was provost and vice president of Academic Affairs from 2011 to 2016 at Sam Houston State Сòòò½APP.

At Sam Houston State Сòòò½APP, he was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 2005 to 2011, and chair and professor of statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from 1999 to 2005. He was an assistant and associate professor of statistics at Sam Houston from 1995 to 1999, and an assistant professor of mathematical science at Appalachian State Сòòò½APP from 1990 to 1995.

His appointment to UL Lafayette is pending approval by the Board of Supervisors of the Сòòò½APP of Louisiana System.

IСòòò½APP™d like to thank the search committee members and chair Dr. Dianne Olivier for their diligence and proficiency to lead us to the selection of Dr. Hebert.

I share the appreciation of many for Dr. David DanaharСòòò½APP™s contributions over the past two years advancing the Сòòò½APP. IСòòò½APP™m pleased heСòòò½APP™ll continue working at the Сòòò½APP as senior adviser in my office.
