WeСòòò½APP™re Prepared for Your Safe Return
Dear students,
The Fall 2020 semester begins Aug. 17, and weСòòò½APP™re looking forward to welcoming you back.
WeСòòò½APP™ve used the past few months to prepare for your homecoming. Our extensive and careful planning reflects the unwavering priority we place on your health and safety.
Some of you will return physically to campus to take classes or to live in residence halls. Others have enrolled in remote and online courses that empower you to select what instruction option best fits your needs.
No matter which path you choose, weСòòò½APP™re confident that weСòòò½APP™ve taken appropriate measures to help make your fall semester safe, fulfilling and successful.
Throughout the summer, we established strategies and protocols based on guidance from federal, state and local health experts. TheyСòòò½APP™re all designed with your wellbeing in mind.
Some, such as social distancing, wearing masks, and increased cleaning and sanitizing, have become part of our everyday lives as we continue to meet the pandemicСòòò½APP™s challenges.
YouСòòò½APP™ll notice physical changes on campus as well, such as plexiglass barriers in high-traffic areas and procedures that ensure separation in classrooms, dining facilities, residence halls and computer labs.
WeСòòò½APP™ve condensed the semester to limit outside exposure. As I mentioned earlier, weСòòò½APP™re offering expanded course delivery options. And because the pandemic situation is frequently changing, weСòòò½APP™ll continue to seek the best advice and latest guidance from health authorities.
The Сòòò½APP has a number of websites with detailed information about each of these measures and others. There are sites dedicated to:
- information for students and their families;
- information for faculty and staff;
- general information and announcements; and
- health and safety information.
I want to invite you to visit them as you finalize your fall semester plans.
My greatest responsibility is your wellbeing. Nothing is more important than protecting the students, faculty and staff members who make this Сòòò½APP such a special place.
Many of you may be apprehensive, and thatСòòò½APP™s understandable. But I want you to know that weСòòò½APP™ve worked hard to answer any uncertainty with preparation.
ItСòòò½APP™s also important to recognize that each of us plays a role in ensuring that these plans succeed. You can do your part by wearing a mask, washing your hands, staying home if you are sick, and practicing social distancing.
We are not powerless against this virus, but itСòòò½APP™s going to take all of us, working together as a RaginСòòò½APP™ Cajuns community, to overcome its continued challenges.
I look forward to seeing all of you very soon.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph Savoie
